BABYMETAL Tickets

If one were to ask passers-by what they associate Japan with, there would certainly be answers like: Geisha, Country of Cherry Blossom, Samurai, manga comics or eccentric fashion. Hardly anyone would give the name "Babymetal" in reply, and it's a shame, because everyone should know this band.

Babymetal is a band that performs the so-called kawaii metal, a combination of Japanese pop (j-pop) and death metal. Babymetal is mainly Suzuki Nakamoto "Su-metal" and Moa Kikuchi "Moametal", accompanied by a heavy metal team of session musicians known as "Kami Band". The group was established in 2010 and immediately won the heart of the Japanese. In November of the same year, the girls performed live for the first time at the Sakura Gakuin concert. In August 2012 the band debuted at Japan's Summer Sonic Festival, becoming the youngest artist ever to perform at this event. In October 2013 Babymetal also became the youngest band at the Loud Park heavy metal music festival. The debut album entitled "Babymetal" appeared on 26 February 2014. The album was positively received by both music critics and audiences, selling 37,000 copies in Japan in the first week and making its debut in fourth place on the Oricon Weekly Album Chart and second place on the Billboard Japan list. The album also topped the iTunes Metal charts in Germany, the UK and the US, and on March 22nd it reached 187th position on the US Billboard 200 chart. In 2014 the band started their first world tour "Babymetal World Tour 2014", performing in Paris, Cologne and the UK at Sonisphere Festival 2014. The artists also made their debut at the Heavy Montréal 2014 festival playing alongside Metallica and Slayer, and performed at Summer Sonic 2014 in Japan on Mountain Stage with bands such as Avenged Sevenfold and Megadeth. Babymetal was also a supporter during Lady Gaga's five concerts on her "ArtRave: The Artpop Ball" tour. On March 29th 2016 the Japanese premiere of the second studio album "Metal Resistance" took place. The world premiere was on April 1st. The day after, the group became the first Japanese band ever to open the Wembley Arena with the largest daytime event ticket sales. On 9 July 2018 the team won the Heavy Metal World Cup 2018. On 8th October 2019 the third studio album entitled "Metal Galaxy" was released. It has been ranked thirteenth on the Billboard 200 list, thus becoming the best-selling album in Japanese language in the history of the list.
